Volunteer
Helpers
Each year volunteers donate hundreds of
hours to shop, prepare, and serve meals, work with the children,
greet and spend time with clients and their children, and serve on
event committees.

If you feel your talents would benefit the
women and children of The Living Room, or if you would like to learn
more about the program, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at
707-591-5490. We will answer your questions and schedule you
to come in for a visit at your convenience.

Volunteers as Advocates
The Advocate Program at The Living Room is where volunteers work closely with our Case Manager
in assisting participants to become self-sufficient. The next training session of six weeks will begin the
week of April 20th. Contact Linda Swan at 321-0580 or Lswan@thelivingroomsc.org for additional information.
Special
Event Volunteers
Each year The Living Room holds various fundraisers, participates in the Human Race,
hosts local play and musical performances, and coordinates special events for the clients. If you are
interested in volunteering for any of the events, please contact our
Volunteer Coordinator at 707-591-5490.

- Benefit Plays in partnership with 6th Street Playhouse
– Each year, the 6th Street Playhouse offers the full house of a final rehersal of an upcoming play, such as Oklahoma or
Guys and Dolls to friends and supporters of The Living Room. Everyone enjoys a wonderful theatrical evening,
often with wine and hors d'oervers preceding the event. Volunteers help us in distributing programs, serving
refreshments, ushering patrons to their seats and helping with clean-up. All proceeds from ticket sales and raffles at the event go to
support the programs and clients of The Living Room! Check back later in the year to see which play is next on the schedule.
