Join the Board

The Living Room is seeking individuals to serve on its Board of Directors. The Board sets policy for the organization and oversees all financial aspects of the agency. During their three-year term, responsibilites include attending monthly board meetings and serving on at least one board sub-committee. The time commitment to serve on the Board varies but requires an average of 10-12 hours per month. The board as a whole also plays a key role in developing fund raising strategies, volunteering for special events and supporting staff members. The Living Room is continually searching for potential board members who are willing to serve and can bring specific skill sets such as backgrounds in mental health, homeless services, accounting, human resources, the law, fund raising, event planning, public relations, and other skills that may assist the board in the achieving the mission of The Living Room.

You might also consider serving on a Board Committee (instead of the full board) as a community member. This would require less time. Committees generally meet for two hours 6-12 times per year or as needed. The committees include:
