Programs
The women of The Living Room are welcomed into a safe and comfortable environment and are provided with information on temporary supportive social services available to them and their children. The Living Room strives to provide necessary services to assist the program participants towards independence and self-sufficiency.
- Day Center: Open from 8:30am-1:30pm Monday through Friday, the Day Center sees 50-80 women on a daily basis, offering breakfast and a hot lunch, prepared by our wonderful volunteers! Desk services include referrals and linkages to community resources, voicemail set up for each individual client, newspapers, use of a telephone and access to two computers for job and housing searches. The Living Room partners with many organizations in the community to provide education and access to services, such as with California Parenting Institute, Catholic Charities/Housing, Drug Abuse Alternatives Center, Sutter Family Practice and Residency Program and the Sonoma County Mental Health Outreach Team.
- Mother and Child, (MAC): The Mother and Child Program at The Living Room provides a safe, child-friendly environment for mothers and their children. Resources and referrals for health care, child care/Head Start, parenting support and counseling are provided by staff to mothers while their children engage with toys and activities carefully chosen to enhance curiosity and support early learning. Mothers receive vital support from staff, volunteers and other mothers, as well as basic necessities such as bottles, diapers, clothing and strollers.
- Pathways Case Management Program (Formerly, the Transitions program):
